We just wanted to share our plans for the next couple of alpha releases for Porky Pilot so you know what to anticipate 🙂

The core mechanic is of course set and we hope that we won’t need to touch on that. The plan is to add some more “meat” to the game.

This “meat” will include:
– obstacles than can be avoided/destroyed
– more skills to counter obstacles
– a ranking system to mirror the players progress

– more skins of course 🙂

We try to keep the gameplay fast-paced, but not impossible to play. Through the balance between skills and obstacles we want to maintain a challenging gameplay which is easy to learn, but hard to master.

These are just the features for the coming months. Of course we have many more crazy ideas for the far future 😉 We will post updates about the game as often as possible. So stay tuned!

If you haven’t already signed up for the Android or iOS alpha you can do that on our TESTS PAGE.

Keep in mind that this is still an unfinished version. So you could encounter bugs while you are playing. If you do so, please report to us via porkypilot@beefandbackflips.com.

We just released a new version of our Porky Pilot alpha!

Beside many minor changes we mainly reworked some basic features which didn’t feel right.
To summarize the changes:
– clouds spawn more “natural” rather than with a constant distance from each other
– storm and rainbow cloud have a different effect rather than just increasing gravity
– better difficulty curve

– and a new skin: Sir Pork!

To participate just visit our TESTS PAGE and sign-up to test on Android or on iOS.

Enjoy!

Hey hey,

last weekend was Ludum Dare time again and the theme was very bad!
“Combine 2 Incompatible Genres”? What the hell?

I spent many hours finding an idea I was happy with and started implementing very late.
Usually I plan to program all the features on the first day and on the second day I work on art, audio and polishing stuff if time permits it.
This time I didn’t even have a working game on the second day! Very frustrating. Fortunately, the game didn’t require much art and I even got some things polished.
As always, I wanted to do so much stuff more, but time is of course limited 🙁
However, I’m glad that I participated in the jam again as it is always a very valuable experience.

I thank everyone who helped me playtest that thing 😀

You can play the game directly in the browser on itch.io or visit the game page on the Ludum Dare site.

By the way, a timelapse video also exists 🙂

Enjoy!

Hey everyone,
last weekend was the Ludum Dare 40 Game Jam and I participated again!
As always it was very fun, especially if you also watch other developers live on Twitch, but also again very stressful 😀
This time I used my drawing tablet for the first time, so my art style looks very “special” 😉
Long story short: you can play the game directly in the browser on itch.io or visit my Ludum Dare compo entry page.

I also tried making a timelapse video of the development process. You can watch the result of that here:

Have fun!
